Cineplexx

The peak of entertainment on the Wienerberg

February 18, 2019

Cinema LED technology. There are only five movie theaters in the world that have it. And only one in Austria. Right around the corner from PhilsPlace Full-Service Apartments Vienna. The Cineplexx on the Wienerberg is the first and only Austrian cinema that has replaced its projector-based system by a LED-screen with 9 million pixels. And thereby offers a revolutionary viewing experience.

Ultra-contrast. Highest brightness. Greater spectrum of color. This is Samsung’s new cinema technology called Onyx. Its launch marks the end of the projector-based systems that have been the industry standard for the past 120 years. Because without a projection beam there are no reflections and this takes the viewing experience in cinemas to a whole new level. But the revolutionary technology does not only improve picture quality. It can also be used for multiple alternative purposes – from gaming events to lectures. Apart from that, it is the first of its kind that can also display 3D movies. A true delight for all cinemaniacs.

There is one further reason why the Cineplexx on the Wienerberg is a very special one: The programs “Cineplexx Opera” and “Cineplexx Ballett” take you to the most magnificent opera halls in the world. Whether a visit to the Metropolitan Opera in New York or a ballet performance at Moscow’s Bloschoi – all it takes is a five-minute walk from your Full-Service Apartment at PhilsPlace to the full-comfort cinema auditorium at the Cineplexx. La Traviata, Aida and the Nutcracker. The most beautiful classics among the opera and ballet pieces with no restrictions in sight – and some of them even as live stream. And the best about it: Before every opera broadcast from the MET the chief of the Ö1 editorial department for operas, Michael Bless, gives an introductory talk.

A cinema without projectors. But with a rich cultural offer. We think that’s pretty cool.
